Introduction
With immense pleasure, C-Park celebrated its second anniversary on 15th August, 2020. It was a virtual celebration through Google Meet with special guests, participants, friends, and families. Just before the anniversary celebration, C-Park conducted an online video contest between 1st August and 10th August 2020 in which more than 70 participants actively took part and showcased their extraordinary talents. 18 creative talents were awarded with exciting cash awards and as a token of acknowledgement e-certificates were issued to every participant.
Virtual 2nd Anniversary Celebration
With the coordination of our volunteers and our speakers’ availability, the celebration was organized through Google Meet on 15th August 2020 at 10:00 am. The celebration commenced with an inaugural speech, delivered by a proud volunteer of C-Park, which was followed by a prayer. Rev. Fr. Peter Thumma, who is a Rector and Parish Priest of Luz Shrine, Mylapore prayed for an enduring faith, love and service to the needy and blessed the occasion. A webinar was arranged for the day on the topic of Gratitude, one of the most important virtues everyone should carry throughout their life’s journey.
Mrs. Jayanthi Gowrishankaran, who is a person with immense energy and enthusiasm, inspired us with her edifying talk on how to “Revive Happiness”. She conducted a very interactive session as most of the guests and participants, actively responded and shared their thoughts. Also, Rev. Fr. Jerome, who is a young friendly priest known for his work in humanitarian aid, joined us to share a memorable deed rendered by C-Park to the needy.
As we moved on to the most awaited part of the event– The declaration of Winners, the session was filled with cheers and chants. Our vibrant coordinator of the event announced the winners of the contest by playing their videos. Winners were congratulated and offered an opportunity to share their happiness. The session came to an end with vote of thanks, delivered by one of the passionate Trustees of C-Park, Mrs. Alfio Sharemila, who extended her heartfelt gratitude to everyone present at the event.
Since, it is on India’s Independence Day that we celebrate our Anniversary every year, as a mark of true patriotism; our National Anthem was played for which everyone stood up and expressed their respect. With a grateful heart, we thanked all of them who took their time and effort to be a part of the event and made it a grand success.
Conclusion
It was indeed a memorable and a very successful celebration as we received wonderful feedback from our guests and participants. We were able to ease the stress and anxieties caused due to the pandemic Covid-19 to a certain extent and wish to continue the same in the upcoming days through various webinars and other workshop activities. It has been a wonderful journey so far for C-Park to help fellow human beings to revive happiness through the various services that we offer.
